ASIA PACIFIC SPACE DESIGNERS ALLIANCE
For the first time the Asia Pacific Space Designers Alliance Conference was held in Australia, at the Adelaide Convention Centre on 24th and 25th September. Hosted by the DIA this event incorporated the DIA Designer of the Year Awards and the ceremony to induct members to the Hall of Fame.
This year APSDA was held in conjunction with Designers Saturday, one of the most important platforms for innovation in design, showcasing design and collaborating with industry leaders. This event attracted delegates from Interstate, overseas and local designers.
UCI South Australia saw this as a tremendous opportunity to display our products, promote the UCI Brand and an opportunity to connect with the design community.
The theme of the conference was ‘Home’ and how the ideology of Home can be translated into the Workplace. Home represents family, comfort, and familiarity. Home is defined by the spaces we create, much like the workspaces we work with our clients to create.
Jessamy Wood, Sales Consultant from Adelaide, designed a Box sectioned Return that integrated with the Interchange Electric desk leg. It was designed using soft timber finishes and fabrics that compliment the feeling of Home and translated into the Workplace. There was a lot of interest in the collaborative products and creative display.
The conference was a fantastic opportunity to interact with designers and connect in the creative environment. Overall this conference was a huge success for UCI South Australia, who will to continue to engage and support the design community in the future through industry events.
