Ryo Igarashi

Japanese designer Ryo Igarashi started his career as a product designer of office task seating at Okamura Corporation in 1996.
After studying at Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles, US,  he returned to Okamura Corporation and has since launched several office chairs.
His works have won many high profile awards such as Best of NeoCon Innovation award, IF award and Universal Design Award as well as six Good Design awards in Japan.
In collaboration with UCI, Ryo has completed two Australian Roadshows for designers with his products; the Grata chair in 2006, and the Leopard chair in 2010.

For over 65 years, Okamura has been Japan’s leading office furniture manufacturer and a benchmark for the industry. Okamura is recognized for its high quality products that have achieved design and engineering excellence. Okamura products are now distributed to over 50 countries.
