UCI is turning Japanese for June 2015 to celebrate our 10-year long successful partnership with world-renowned interiors brand, Okamura.

Okamura Corporation is the number one furniture manufacturer in Japan and is situated in the top five in the world.  UCI has been an exclusive distributer of Okamura products in Australia to the commercial market for ten years now.  To celebrate this partnership, a Japanese-themed event roadshow will take place at each UCI showroom in Brisbane, Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne, Hobart, Perth and at a third-party venue in Adelaide.

Special guests from Okamura include Masahiko Kanaya (Interior Designer, Project Design Division) and Akiko Sudoh (International Sales and Marketing Division).  They will travel to each city to present on an extremely relevant topic in today’s workplace designs – Focus v. Collaboration, Creating the Perfect Balance in the Workplace.

It is accepted that competitive work environments these days must support collaboration, teamwork and an easy flow of communication, however focus and individual work must also be allowed for.  Mr Kanaya will discuss the solution at each event to an audience of Interior Designers, Architects, Builders and alike.

Each UCI office will showcase a selection of Okamura products in their showroom at the event, with exciting new products to be launched on the night, including Muffle, a new concept in furniture programs to support agile working environments and Sylphy, a new ergonomic task chair with back curve adjustment.
